Over the weekend I went to a girlfriends baby shower that was mermaid themed. It was so detailed & adorable! My friend is a rockabilly so a bunch of the guests were also very cute & rockabilly, the music was oldies so it was a great combo. The colors were pink & light blue almost mint green. They had a bunch of classic baby shower games (which me & my sister pretty much dominated lol) like the leg crossing game, eating a gerber the fastest (Which I won!), chocolate poop diapers, etc. The food was delicious (Fruit, Pozole, & cake), & they had a bounce house for kids. I know everyone is obsessed with mermaids right now so I took pics & wanted to share them, I would hate to see a good party theme go to waste with out sharing it with the world =) haha

This was the prize table for the games on display! |

Fish Bowls with real fish were the party favors, they were on each table. |

This was what I won for eating the gerber the fastest challenge! I almost puked because I had to eat the peas gerber but it was so worth it! This mirror is too cute.

Handmade Coconut But
So one of my closest friends, who threw me my baby shower when I was having my son, was having a baby girl (she was born already :]) and I decided to return her the favor & plan hers! I loooove to plan parties! Let me tell you for a party on a budget I think it turned out fabulous! So now I'm thinking of finally posting on the parties I have done in the past. But this post in particular is on her baby shower. So being that I had to plan this after being laid off my job, I knew I was going to be able to splurge on it. My friend wanted a black & hot pink damask theme. Very chic, girly, & elegant I loved it. At my old job I used to have a lot of spare time to be surfing the web so that's exactly what I did, I googled the crap out the baby shower haha. I ended up finding the most unique & amazing key pieces for the party and most of them came from Etsy!
First & foremost were the invitations. We picked these out from Zazzle.com. They were to cute not to have & fit her theme perfectly!
For food it was just a potluck so nothing special. But dessert was important to her, we HAD to have a candy bar :) I got all the trays & untensils from the 99 cent store, I forget how amazing that place is! For the Chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting with strawberry slices & chocolate drizzled on top I just used the Damask cups from Amazon. I got a Damask print table runner from amazon as well. We had skittles, strawberry gummy bears, cupcakes, and champagne flutes of pink lemonade :) I spread the large rhinestone gems all over the table. I got the Chanel baby carriage from Etsy & used it as the table centerpiece & as a giftbox to my gift to her (a bedazzled on the go wipie case). The Chanel booties were the party favors so everyone got to take one home!
The It's a Girl banner was also from Etsy. It was sooo cute! For games I did the melted chocolate 'poop' diaper game & the leg crossing game where we used feather boas! All in all for being on a budget it looked so bougie! Haha loved it. I tied the 2 Chanel booties together & have them hanging in my rear view mirror of my car lol. I actually just sold the Chanel Carriage today but the one-of-a-kind banner is still up for sale if anyone is interested.

So I was going through my closet and saw a bunch of clothes that I have never worn still with tags just chillen in my closet! I even have shoes I have worn for a couple hours or less just collecting dust. Ridiculous! Wow, the last time I posted was in January. I really need to get the hang of this blogging thing lol. Anywho I decided to make a post about my new makeup discovery which is the Glamour Sponge (@GlamourSponge) by @MakeupMae. I found out about it from following her on Instagram but she has a webpage just for the sponge where you can also find more information on it & to purchase them. Recently I was told my makeup looked cakey :( & that's when I knew I had to get one of those sponges that makeup gurus raved so much about to help put your makeup on. I decided to go with this one out of all the other ones in the market because it was 1. affordable 2. It had really good reviews from everyone who used it 3. Created by an amazing makeup artist! And so far so good! I add a little water to it and makes my BB cream & foundation go on so smooth & flawlessly! It has a unique shape to help with the corners & hard spots on the face. I've told all my closest friends about it so hopefully they try it out! I swear by it now :) No more cake face!
So I stumbled across this picture on Tumblr of course and it was love at first sight with the platform wedges on the right! I need, gotta have! I didn't have any information on these shoes though (Like brand, designer, etc) but I didn't think they were going to be a problem to find...WRONG! I googled the crap out of these shoes and nothing...so depressing! So if anyone knows anything like where I could purchase them, brand, designer ANYTHING let me know & I will love you forever :) I'm on a hunt!
